PITTSBURGH — A Wisconsin auto recycler is in jeopardy of losing its salvage dealer license following an investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s Division of Motor Vehicles.

Bonduel, Wis.-based Terry’s 29 Auto LLC, which also operates as Highway 29 Auto Parts, was found to have intentionally removed and altered vehicle identification numbers, the state agency said.

The company has agreed to allow the agency to inspect its business records to verify that it is in compliance with state laws. Any future violations could cause the business to lose its salvage license.

The company declined to comment.
