NEW YORK — Nucor Corp.’s Connecticut division is raising prices for all wire rod products by $10 per ton (50 cents per hundredweight) effective with shipments Sept. 1, the company said in an Aug. 13 letter to customers.

The Wallingford rebar and wire rod mill, a division of Charlotte, N.C.-based Nucor, has an annual capacity of about 300,000 tons of wire rod and rebar.

The move follows a $15-per-ton (75-cents-per-cwt) wire rod increase by the company for August shipments (, July 17), which was followed by other steelmakers (, July 22).
