LOS ANGELES — Nasmyth Group Ltd. has expanded into the United States with the acquisition of aerospace specialist Technical Metal Finishing Inc.

The Coventry, England-based company, which has renamed its new operation Nasmyth TMF, said the Burbank, Calif.-based company’s capabilities—among which include anodizing and chemical film coating—will complement its four metal finishing businesses in the United Kingdom. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

"It is currently our only U.S. business, but we hope to add to our portfolio of U.S.-based businesses soon," a Nasmyth spokeswoman told AMM via e-mail.

Nasmyth TMF’s primary customers include the aerospace and defense industries.

Craig Hanriot, the former owner of Technical Metal Finishing, will work with Nasmyth to "identify and develop new metal finishing opportunities in the Untied States, Europe and Asia," the company said.

The parent company and its new acquisition will benefit from "technology transfers in both directions," Nasmyth TMF general manager Chris Sosa said in a statement.

Nasmyth, whose specialties also include machining, fabrication and assembly, has annual revenue of more than $100 million, according to its website.
