NLMK increases iron ore pellet output

Keywords:

Russia’s largest steelmaker, Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK), will increase iron ore pellet output at its Stoilensky plant in the west of Russia to 6.4 million tonnes per year in 2018, a company spokeswoman told Metal Bulletin. The 2018 target would increase NLMK’s 64.8% Fe pellet output by 11.89% year-on-year, up from 5.72 million tonnes in 2017.

“We don’t have any plans to sell to third parties – all pellet output will be fed into NLMK’s Lipetsk steel mill [also located in the west of Russia],” the spokeswoman said.
