AMM’s NEW
Scrap Conference
A look into the steel scrap industry’s new world
November 12-14, 2007 Hyatt Regency Gainey Ranch Resort, Spa & Golf Course
On November 12-14, AMM Events is pleased to present its inaugural Scrap Conference & AMM Golf Tournament specifically designed for the steel industry.
Over the two day conference, we will explore the steel scrap industry in depth and talk about the specific factors that are reshaping the market. Industry experts will discuss how trends, such as new consolidation led by mergers and acquisitions, the influx of private equity interest in the market, scrap alternatives and raw material are directly impacting your business and your bottom line.
Keynote speaker Keith Busse, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Steel Dynamics Inc. will launch this inaugural conference adding color to the recent acquisition by Steel Dynamics of OmniSource Corporation and the increasing interdependence of the American steel and ferrous scrap industries and the need to work cooperatively to protect mutual interests in a dynamic global economy.
Other key topic points include:
Flaws of past scrap consolidation strategies and is the industry set to repeat them?
Private company sales preparation.
If the steel contract takes off, will it impact scrap prices?
How alternate supplies lend some control over the market.
Hidden transportation costs and cost benefits.
Mill buyers needs, wants and expectations in the year ahead.
Bringing the conference full circle, the final panel will explore many of the same issues from each session from the mill buyer point of view. Hear directly from the people who purchase scrap, their outlook on both mini-mills and integrated markets and their needs, wants and expectations.

AMM Events’ Golf Tournament at Gainey Ranch - November 12th
As the former chief architect for Robert Trent Jones, J. Michael Poellot has more than lived up to his reputation in designing each of Gainey Ranch's courses.
With its lush greenery, sparkling waterways and spectacular waterfall at the 9th hole, The Lakes is both a challenge and a delight. Surrounded by the indigenous desert, The Dunes course requires accuracy off the tee and a gentle touch on the greens. And the longest of the three nines, The Arroyo requires both power and placement, ending with its infamous peninsular green on #9.
The Golf Tournament is limited to the first 50 people who register for it, so act today!
