Dr. Malcolm C. Thomas
Engineering Fellow - Materials, Rolls Royce Plc

Dr. Malcolm C. Thomas obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Wales for work on high temperature fatigue of diesel engine materials. He worked for INCO in England and at the Smith-Clayton Division of GKN as Chief Metallurgist, manufacturing nickel and titanium disks for aircraft engines.

In 1986 Dr. Thomas joined Allison Gas Turbines, Indianapolis, USA where he was Director of Technology. He is currently Materials & Mechanical Behaviour Executive, for Rolls-Royce plc, based in Derby, UK.

Dr. Thomas has authored many papers on titanium and nickel alloy disk production and properties, and also single crystals and coatings.

He is a former member of the Editorial Board of Advanced Materials and Processes and the US National Materials Advisory Board. Malcolm serves on many university and government advisory boards in the UK and US. Dr. Thomas is a Rolls-Royce Fellow, a Fellow of the American Society of Materials International and a Fellow of the Institute of Materials. He is a visiting Professor at the University of Wales.

Anne Wittmann
Business Operations Analyst, Airbus Americas

Anne Wittmann is a Business Operations Analyst at Airbus’ commercial subsidiary in the Americas: Airbus Americas Sales, Inc. This Herndon, Virginia based subsidiary is the primary provider in North, Central and South America (including the Caribbean) of the commercial functions required to assist and support airlines in their acquisition of Airbus aircraft.

Ms. Wittmann joined Airbus in 2006 and has worked in the Business Operations department for the past two years. Within this role, she assists in providing market research, analysis, and market development to all departments. Ms. Wittmann also coordinates with the Market Forecasting Department located in the Airbus headquarters in Toulouse, France on the annually published Global Market Forecast through contributing insight into the North American market.

She is a graduate of Bucknell University with a degree in Economics and International Relations.

Kevin Michaels
Principal and Co-Founder, AeroStrategy

Kevin Michaels, AeroStrategy Principal and co-founder, has 22 years of aviation experience, including hundreds of consulting engagements for leading aviation and aerospace companies across the globe. He has expertise in the aerospace OEM and MRO sectors, strategic planning, and industrial marketing. Previously a Principal with The Canaan Group and Director - Strategic Development with Rockwell Collins Government Systems, Kevin began his career as a project engineer with Williams International.

He holds BS - Aerospace Engineering and MBA (with distinction) degrees from the University of Michigan, and MSc (with Honors) and PhD degrees in International Relations from the London School of Economics. He manages the AeroStrategy North American office in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Stuart Miller
Owner, Direct Alloys, President, Jet Information Services

Stuart M. Miller is co-founder and owner of Direct Alloys, a unique mill products clearinghouse that provides excess inventory marketing support to the specialty metals Industry. He is also president and owner of Jet Information Services, Inc., publisher of the World Jet Inventory commercial jet fleet status reports. Both businesses are located in Utica, NY.

Prior to forming Direct Alloys, Mr. Miller worked for over 25 years in various technical, manufacturing and sales positions within the aerospace metals industry. He was with Special Metals Corporation from 1990 through 2005 and Carpenter Technology from 1984 to 1990. Stuart holds a B.S. in Metallurgy from Penn State and an MBA from St. Joseph's University.”

Peter Wazlawek
Vice President, Supply Chain Management, GKN Aerostructures North America

Peter Wazlawek joined GKN Aerospace in October 2004 and is currently the Vice President of Supply Chain Management for the North American Aerostructures Division. In this capacity Mr. Wazlawek is responsible for managing supplier partnerships, materials and logistics for 5 GKN sites. He has been instrumental in implementation of lean strategies and material pull systems through-out the supply chain. He was formerly employed as Materials and Inventory Director by Emerson Climate Technologies, a global supplier for HVAC controls and protection devices and as Strategic Sourcing Director for Harbour Group Ltd, a diverse holding company for small to medium sized manufacturing businesses. Earlier in his career, Mr. Wazlawek held progressively challenging engineering assignments as Process Engineer, Product Engineer, Tool Engineer. Project Engineer and Operations Engineering Manager. Assignments at these organizations have included business start-ups in Mexico, China, Taiwan, Brazil, India, Spain and Poland.

Mr. Wazlawek has over 20 years of experience in Operations Management and holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Webster University and a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Missouri University for Science and Technology. He is a current board member of the Industrial Advisory Committee for the University of Missouri Rolla, The chairman-elect of the St. Louis Crisis Nursery Board and the chairman of the Webster University International Business Internship Exchange Board. He also holds a Professional Engineering License in the State of Missouri and was recognized as the Engineer of the Year in 2000 by The Society of Manufacturing Engineers. He is also a former House Leader for Habitat for Humanity.

Paul Jones
President, Reading Alloys

Mr. Jones is President & COO of Reading Alloys, Inc. and Executive Vice President of its parent company, KB Alloys, Inc. Reading Alloys manufactures and supplies master alloys to the global titanium and superalloy markets and specialty powder products for the electronics, medical and other high quality markets. KB Alloys manufactures and supplies grain refiner, hardener and specialty products to the international aluminum industry.

Mr. Jones is a forty-year veteran of the aluminum and titanium industries and has served as Reading Alloys’ President & COO since KB Alloys purchased the company from its founders in 1998. He has extensive domestic and international business experience in these industries.

He is a member of the board of the International Titanium Association.

He is a graduate of Florida State University with a degree in Business Administration (Finance) and served for thirteen years as an officer in the US Army National Guard and Reserves.

Dawne Hickton
Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, RTI International Metals

Dawne S. Hickton is Vice Chairman and Chief

Executive Officer of RTI International Metals, Inc., a

leading U.S. producer of titanium mill products and

fabricated metal components for aerospace, defense,

industrial and other markets. Ms. Hickton was named

Vice Chairman and CEO on April 27, 2007, and has

served as a member of RTI’s board since 2007.

Ms. Hickton has over 20 years of diversified metals experience, including more than 10

years in the titanium industry spanning several business cycles.

During her tenure as CEO, RTI has signed more than $4 billion in long-term agreements

with Boeing, Airbus, Lockheed Martin and other key customers. The firm has also embarked

on $400 million of facilities expansions intended to diversify its raw material sourcing and

increase production capacity by more than 35 percent.

Ms. Hickton was formerly Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer at RTI,

where she was closely engaged in a variety of strategic issues. These included the

Company’s restructuring, its international expansion, industry lobbying and labor relations. In

her role as CAO, she had responsibility for audit, accounting, finance, treasury, human

resources, investor relations and legal matters.

Kuni Chen
Independent Securities Analyst,

Kuni Chen was the lead metals analyst at Banc of America Securities from 2006-08 covering both ferrous and non-ferrous sectors. Previously, he worked at Salomon Smith Barney on the packaging team. Team ranked #1 in packaging by Institutional Investor from 1999-2007. Member of AIMR and NYSSA.

Bill Williams
Vice President, Materials Product Support, Gulfstream

Bill Williams joined Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. in December 2005 as the director of initial phase and advanced purchasing programs. Just 18 months later, he was promoted to the newly created post of vice president, product support materials.

In this position, Bill oversees the company’s worldwide parts inventory as well as its repair and overhaul operations to ensure consistency across the five Gulfstream Product Support and four General Dynamics Aviation Services facilities.

Bill came to Gulfstream from GKN Aerostructures in St. Louis, Mo., where he was the vice president of the supply chain. Before that, he was the North American Strategic Sourcing Manager for TRW Aeronautical Systems in Macon, Ga.

Bill’s extensive supply-chain experience also includes 12 years at Nissan and Saturn and seven years at Ingersoll-Rand, a commercial products manufacturer in Mayfield, Ky.

A native of Lebanon, Tenn., Bill earned a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from Lambuth College in Jackson, Tenn. He also has completed a number of courses in Lean Manufacturing.

Bill lives in Rincon, Ga., with his wife, Leslie, and their three daughters: Lana, 17; Rachel, 14; and Beverly, 14.

In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, fishing and spending time with his family.

Raymond Mitchell
President , Alcoa Power and Propulsion

Raymond B. (Ray) Mitchell was elected a vice president of Alcoa in November 2006. He also serves as president of Alcoa Power and Propulsion, a business unit created through the combination of Alcoa Howmet Castings and Alcoa Forged Products. This global business produces high-grade investment castings for aerospace and industrial gas turbines, and forgings for aerospace and industrial applications. It has 29 manufacturing facilities worldwide. Additionally, Ray is a member of Alcoa’s Employee Relations Council, a leadership team that provides strategic leadership on employee relations matters throughout the company’s U.S. operations

Ray joined Alcoa in 1994 in the Corporate Development organization in Pittsburgh, responsible for several key joint ventures, acquisitions, and corporate divestitures. In 1997 he was named assistant controller, Financial Analysis and Planning, and in 1999 he became chief financial officer for Alcoa Europe, located in Geneva, Switzerland. Ray was appointed president of Alcoa Wheel and Forged Products in 2002. The business had 15 plants in six countries, producing forged aluminum wheels for the commercial truck and automotive industries, aircraft and military tanks. During this assignment, Ray also served as director of the Commercial Vehicle Market Sector, responsible for growing Alcoa’s position in this $7 billion global market. Ray was named to his current position in December 2004.

Prior to joining Alcoa, he was director of Finance, Large Scale Computing Division, for the IBM Corporation in Poughkeepsie, New York. His career at IBM spanned 12 years and included management positions in finance and business planning.

Ray is a 1980 graduate of Dickinson College where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in economics and mathematics. He received an MBA degree in 1982 from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. He is a member of the Financial Executive Institute.

Ray was born May 27, 1958 in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. He and his wife, Kathy, have two children.

Keith Harvey
Vice President Sales and Marketing, Kaiser Aluminum

Keith Harvey is Vice President Sales & Marketing, Aerospace & General Engineering Products. He joined Kaiser in 1981 as an industrial engineer at the company’s rolling mill in West Virginia. He subsequently held increasingly responsible positions in engineering and sales at several Kaiser locations and was named a vice president in 1994. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from West Virginia University

Salvatore Davi

A 16 year veteran of the scrap processing industry, Salvatore Davi is currently with Utica Alloys, Inc, Utica, New York

He heads Utica’s stainless steel and export divisions.

Prior to Utica Alloys Inc., Sal sat on Metal Management’s original Export Trading desk and was responsible for all non ferrous exports off of the Eastern Seaboard for MTLM from 1999 to September of 2001.

Additionally, Sal has traded scrap internationally both with Wise Metals and with Royce Corporation. He began his career nearly 17 years ago with MJ Metal

Lee Flower
Senior Marketing Manager, Haynes International

Lee Flower is senior market manager at Haynes International, Inc., Kokomo, Indiana, USA. Mr. Flower has over 35 years experience in the high nickel alloy industry, and his current focus is on market development activities for Haynes wrought nickel and cobalt base alloys in the aerospace and gas turbine industries and in key emerging technologies related to the energy industries.

Mr. Flower joined Haynes International in 2000 following a career at Inco Alloys International (now Special Metals Corporation). Mr. Flower’s experience includes management positions in marketing, sales, and manufacturing related to wrought nickel and cobalt base alloys.

Mr. Flower received his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and his BS in Metallurgy from Case Western Reserve University.

Paul Helsel
Senior Partner, Phoenixx International LP

Paul Helsel started Phoenixx International on November 1, 1990 the day after Philipp Brothers closed its world wide trading activities, where he had traded virtually every commodity during his 16 years (1974 to 1990). Prior to joining Phibro, he spent 9 years with Pittsburgh National Bank in their Retail Division as a Vice president and Regional Manager. During the 1990’s Paul spent several years on the DLA Advisory Committee for the administration of the United States strategic stockpile.

He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1966 with an Economics Degree, and a Graduate School Degree in Banking from Rutgers University in 1973.
