Scott Thiele is Director, Raw Materials and Stampings for Chrysler LLC. In this role, Mr. Thiele is responsible for the procurement of steel, stampings, precious metals, base metals, ferrous scrap, and fasteners. Mr. Thiele joined Chrysler LLC in November of 2007 after 16 years of experience with Whirlpool, most recently as the General Manager, Global Raw Materials. Mr. Thiele holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Notre Dame, a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan, and a master’s degree in business from Ashland University.

Paul Shellman

Paul is presently advising the CME Group in their development of a North American steel financial contract.

Mr. Shellman has over 25 years of commodity risk management experience dealing with trading, origination, commodity finance, and product structuring. His work spans across physical and financial commodity markets where he has led ventures in North America, Europe and Australia.

Kim Korth

Kim Korth is President and owner of IRN, Inc., a well-known consulting firm

firm for global automotive suppliers. Kim earned a B.A. from Western Michigan

University in 1977 and an M.I.M. from the American Graduate School of

in college at the University of Wales in the United Kingdom in 1975-6.

Her work has centered on helping suppliers understand the dynamics and

structure of their industry, and how they should position themselves to compete

Nadezhda Larina
Principal, Roland Berger Strategy Consultants

Nadezhda Larina serves as Principal, Mining and Metals, CIS region, at

Roland Berger Strategy Consultants. Roland Berger is the leading global

countries and 160 partners, 2,000 employees worldwide.

Ms. Larina provides advice on strategy, including development of

Dr. Jennifer Jackman
Director General, CANMET Materials Technology Laboratory, Minerals and Metals Sector, Natural Resources Canada

Dr. Jennifer Jackman presently holds the position of Director-General, CANMET Materials Technology Laboratory (MTL). This facility is Canada’s principal federal R&D laboratory for structural metals research, including automotive materials, materials for energy generation and transportation including pipelines, defence and eco-materials. Dr. Jackman obtained her PhD in Condensed Matter Physics at the University of Guelph in 1983, working out of the Neutron and Solid State Physics group at the Chalk River Nuclear Laboratories. Following a postdoctoral fellowship at Chalk River on point defects in metals, she moved to the CANMET Materials Technology Laboratory in 1986 and became Director-General in 2000. Research at CANMET-MTL focusses on applications of metals; including automotive, oil and gas pipelines, nuclear reactors and materials for defence applications.

Jennifer has been very active in the development of automotive materials research in Canada, having established the Canadian Lightweight Materials Research Initiative, and she is the Coordinator of the Materials and Manufacturing Theme in the AUTO21 Network of Centres of Excellence. Dr. Jackman has also developed networks internationally, including the Light Metals Alliance which includes CAST in Australia, GKSS in Germany and LKR in Austria. Her group has worked collaboratively with the USDOE program on lightweight materials for several years.

Buddy Stemple
Vice President & General Manager, Novelis Inc.

Lloyd A. “Buddy” Stemple is Vice President and General Manager of the North American Specialty Products Group for Novelis Inc., a global leader in aluminum rolling and recycling. The Specialty Products group serves a variety of markets including automotive, transportation, building and construction, industrial and many distribution segments. The business has operations in Oswego, NY, and Kingston, Ont., with sales offices in Cleveland and Detroit.

Mr. Stemple has been with Novelis (previously Alcan) since 1983 holding various managerial positions in engineering, human resources, operations, and sales and marketing. Prior to his most recent appointment in 2004, he was the Works Manager in Oswego, NY -- the largest manufacturing facility in the Novelis system.

Mr. Stemple is chairman of the Sheet and Plate Committee of the U.S. Aluminum Association, an executive member of the Association’s Auto and Light Truck Group, and a member of the Board of Directors for Pathfinder Bank Holding Company in New York.

Mr. Stemple holds MBA and B.Sc. degrees from West Virginia University, a Masters degree in International Management from McGill University in Montreal, and a diploma from INSEAD in France. Mr. Stemple resides in Oswego, NY, with his wife Carol and their two children.

Udesh Kaul
Category Director of Metallic, Delphi Corp.

Udesh Kaul is the global category director for metallic goods. Delphi buys nearly

$4 billion annually of these goods from a global supply base.

From 2006 to 2007, Kaul was both the Global Supply Management Asia Pacific regional purchasing director, Packard division and Electrical & Electronic Distribution System - Product Business Unit purchasing director. He led a regional team of over 105 purchasing professionals, buying more than $300 million in goods and services for Delphi’s Asia Pacific operations.

Previously, Kaul was a business line director for Electrical & Electronic Distribution System -Asia Pacific. While with Delphi he has had business and supply management assignments in Shanghai, Singapore and in various locations in India.

He is a native of India and graduated with bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Regional Engineering College, Surat, India. Kaul is fluent in Hindi and English.

David Hodory

Mr. Hodory serves as Director of Marketing and Communications for The David J. Joseph Company (DJJ). DJJ, a wholly owned subsidiary of Nucor is based in Cincinnati, Ohio employs over 1,700 people at its various operations, reported 2006 sales over $6 billion, and is the leading broker of ferrous scrap in the U.S. Mr. Hodory joined DJJ in the winter of 2005, and is a native of Cincinnati. Susan Slade
Marketing Executive, US Magnesium LLC

She started providing Technical Service for The Dow Chemical Company's magnesium business, prior to moving to the commercial side of the business 13 years ago. Brian Habacivch
Senior Vice President — Research and Publications, Fellon-McCord Associates

As a member of Fellon-McCord’s executive team, Mr. Habacivch serves as editor-in-chief of

Fellon-McCord publications and head of research, and works with a team of energy analysts

in evaluating and advising on energy markets and risk to Fellon-McCord’s clients throughout

North America.

Mr. Habacivch brings 20 years of experience in the energy industry to the team. Prior

to joining Fellon-McCord, Mr. Habacivch served as director of business development for

Allegheny Energy Solutions. Mr. Habacivch also served as manager, natural gas and

integrated marketing with the New Hampshire-based Sprague Energy Corp, a privately held

energy marketing, petroleum and industrial-materials handling company. During his 10-year

tenure at Sprague, Mr. Habacivch was responsible for the development of industrial-account

natural gas marketing, major accounts, and was engaged in various aspects of power, liquid

fuel marketing, project development, and acquisitions. Mr. Habacivch began his industry

career as Senior Associate Editor for Gas Daily and Gas Markets Week, two nationally

recognized natural gas-industry publications. In his position with Gas Daily and Gas Markets

Week, Mr. Habacivch was responsible for the daily, weekly, and monthly gas-price indices,

coverage of the natural gas spot market, regulatory matters, and editorial content.

Mr. Habacivch studied liberal arts at the Pennsylvania State University and history at the

University of South Carolina.

Michael Bull
Automotive Technology, Novelis Corp.

Michael Bull is director of Technology-Automotive for Novelis North American (Novelis was spun-off from Alcan and has recently been acquired by Hindalco). In his current role, he sits at the interface between the customer, Novelis’s production facilities and the R & D group.

In the last 20 years, Mr. Bull has been fortunate to work on many automotive projects, including many of the well-known Aluminum Intensive Vehicles and numerous closure and structure programs in Europe, North America and Japan. He is chairman of the technical committee for the Automotive and Light Truck Group within the Aluminum Association. This group seeks to promote aluminum as an effective, safe, and environmentally friendly, lightweight material for automotive applications.

Mr. Bull's formal background is in material development and deformation behavior and has led the development of a number of sheet alloys currently widely used in automotive applications.

Josh Campbell
Engineering Group Manager , Materials Engineering - Body Structures & Closures General Motors

Dr. Josh Campbell is responsible for Materials Engineering support for body structure and closure applications on GM North American vehicle programs. This responsibility includes material selection, development of material specifications, approval of suppliers to material specifications, and resolution of materials-related product issues. In previous job assignments within GM, Dr. Campbell has been responsible for engineering design and release of body structures for the Cadillac CTS, for advanced technical work pertaining to nonferrous metal applications on the vehicle body, and for development of advanced metal forming technologies.

Dr. Campbell holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Materials Science & Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in Materials Science from the University of California, Berkeley.

Rama Koganti
Manufacturing Body Supervisor, Ford Motor Co.

Ramakrishna Koganti is a Body Engineering Technical Expert at Ford Motor Company's Research and Advanced Engineering. Mr. Koganti has been working for the past 13 years at Ford Motor Company in advanced lightweight materials, manufacturing and joining processes for body construction. Mr. Koganti worked as a Manufacturing Body Supervisor during Ford GT program development and launch and he was responsible for implementation of new materials and forming technologies, investigation and testing of Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) welded aluminum material joints, Manufacturing of body panels, Body in White (BIW) assembly, and Dimensional Management of the final assembly. Currently, he is investigating Hydroforming and Rollforming technologies for vehicle body structures.

Mr. Koganti has published more than 60 articles and has presented at a number of International conferences. In 2004, Mr. Koganti received a finalist award from Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) for the Carbon Fiber Ford GT Rear Deck Mfg. Process and Assembly under Automotive Division Innovation Awards Category. He has received two patents in the field of vehicle body construction, and has a few patents pending. In 2006, Ford honored him with the Henry Ford Technology Award (HFTA) and two Research and Technical Achievement Awards. In 2007, Mr. Koganti received another HFTA for his involvement in body structure design for Light and Super Duty Trucks. In 2006, Mr. Koganti received Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Henry Ford II Distinguished Award for Excellence in Automotive Engineering for Ford GT Hybrid Aluminum Spaceframe and Body in White Design, Mfg. Process Development and Implementation. Mr. Koganti jointly received a Best Journal Paper Award from IEEE Transactions on Automation Sciences and Engineering in 2005.

Mr. Koganti completed BS in Mechanical Engineering from Gulbarga University, India, in 1988, MASc in Mechanical Engineering from Concordia University, Montreal, Canada in 1993, and MS in Industrial Technology (Majoring in Quality Management) from Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti, Michigan, USA in 1995.

Mr. Koganti served as an Editorial Review Board Member for Quality Engineering Journal (ASQ), and he is currently reviewer for American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), and Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) Journal Transactions. Mr. Koganti is also ASME track chair (2007-Present) for Design and Manufacturing and SAE Session Organizer for Body Engineering (2006-Present).

Shawn Morgans
Body Structure Technical Leader, Ford Motor Co.

Shawn Morgans has been at Ford since 1994. He held various engineering and supervisor positions within Body Engineering, including the role of Body Structure Supervisor for Explorer Programs before becoming the Body Structure Technical Leader.

Ladd Hall

Mr. Hall graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelors of Science in Business Marketing and a minor in Japanese. He has been with the Nucor Corporation for the past 24 years. Mr. Hall started his career in 1981 at the Plymouth, Utah steel division where he worked in the sales department until 1988. Randall Scheps

Randall joined Alcoa in 2006 as the Marketing Director for Alcoa’s Ground Transportation Market Sector which comprises automotive, truck, trailer, bus, and rail products. In this role, Randall has accountability for coordinating Alcoa’s marketing approach to the global ground transportation markets which are served by 9 Alcoa business units. Ground transportation is a $4 Billion global segment for Alcoa and is at the forefront of Alcoa’s efforts to promote sustainability and the sustainable attributes of our products. Randall also serves on the executive committee of the Aluminum Association’s Auto and Light Truck Group.

Prior to Alcoa, Randall has 13 years of automotive experience with Ford Motor Company and Visteon in a variety of chassis related product engineering, strategic planning, and manufacturing management positions in Michigan, Germany, and Mexico.

Randall is a native Texan and holds a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin as well as a Masters in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He and his wife Marie and their three children (ages 14, 12, and 3) have recently moved to Cleveland.

Dr. Markus Weber
Director, Automotive Applications Technology & Product Coordination , ThyssenKrupp Steel

Dr. Markus Weber is the Director of Automotive Technology for ThyssenKrupp Steel USA. In this role, Dr. Weber is responsible for Simultaneous Engineering and Applications Technology, Quality Coordination, and Product Platform Management - focusing on ThyssenKrupp’s greenfield steel production facility in Alabama. Dr. Weber joined ThyssenKrupp Steel AG (Duisburg, Germany) in 2001, and has held various leadership positions in engineering, sales strategy, product introductions, and key account management.

Since 2002, Dr. Weber was the Procurator and Managing Director for the ThyssenKruppSteel subsidiary, MgF Magnesium Flachprodukte GmbH, Freiberg/Saxony, Germany. In addition, Dr. Weber held a management position at the Center of Materials Excellence with a focus on competing materials.

From 1991 to 2001, Dr. Weber worked in contract research and consulting at the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Applied Materials Research, Bremen, Germany and headed since 1999 the Foundary & Metal Foaming department with 25 people.

Dr. Weber holds a Diplom Engineering degree in Metallurgy and Material Science from the Rheinisch-Westfälische Techische Hochschule in Aachen, Germany (1991), and a Ph.D in Metallurgy and Material Science from the Technical University of Clausthal, Germany (1995). In addition, Dr, Weber also completed a graduate appointment researching the wear resistance of cutting tools, and the laser assisted alloying of steels at the Institute National des Sciences Appliquees in Lyon, France (1991).

Currently, Dr. Weber is transitioning from his home in Mülheim/Ruhr, Germany to a home in the Detroit, Mich area as part of the ThyssenKrupp Steel USA senior management team.
