3rd Annual Aerospace Metals Conference

Preparing to Meet the High Level Challenges of the Next Decade

April 15 - 17, 2009 , Walk-Ins Welcome , Marriott City Center, Pittsburgh, PA

The immense market changes over the last 12 months have drastically altered the landscape of aerospace metals.  A booming industry that was once setting records for orders and had created a strong manufacturing backlog has been replaced by an industry that has left many wondering if the aerospace market is grounded.

In 2009, we have expanded the Aerospace Metals program to address these market changes.  Over two days, industry experts and market pioneers will discuss long-range production forecast and forecast models, as well as present in-depth analysis of the new economic climate, supply and demand of raw materials, revert strategies and the impact of increased use of composite materials on the aerospace and metals markets.

The expanded event will once again gather top executives in the aluminum, titanium, aircraft manufacturing, specialty steel, and high-performance alloy markets to discuss the outlook for aerospace metals and offer delegates a unique opportunity to strategically plan for their businesses and network with decision-makers in these markets all within a single event.

Pulled straight from the headlines, topics presenters will examine include:

• Examination of long-range production forecasts.
• Boeing strike and the 787 Dreamliner  - what are the long-term ramifications for lead times?
• Airbus’s production cuts – how has fleet production changed the short-term demand for raw materials?
• Strategies in supply chain management for a new era.
• Are composites a real or imagined threat to aluminum?
• A close look at demand for titanium, nickel, stainless, alloys and superalloys.
• Best practices for managing aircraft life-cycle and the financial incentives of recovered materials.
• How can metals benefit from the green challenge?
• Can the industry be friendly to the environment without constraining manufacturing?
• Engines; new designs, new directions. What advances in engine design will lower operating costs, both in fuel consumption and maintenance?
• Will the federal financial stimulus package help or hurt the aerospace metals industry?
• Will airlines be denied financing in the weakened global market? If so, what does that mean to production?
