Spectro Alloys plans $5.5 mln expansion

Spectro Alloys Corp has earmarked $5.5 million to add a new aluminium furnace in the first phase of a multi-year investment plan to improve operational efficiencies and diversify its product mix.

The aluminium recycler and secondary aluminium alloy producer plans to make a nearly 7,000-square foot addition at its Rosemount, Minnesota-based headquarters, which will house a new 21-ton rotary furnace, which will widen the range of aluminium scrap items Spectro consumes, as well as the aluminium alloys it produces.
