MetalX breaks ground on $35 mln Ohio project

MetalX LLC expects to open part of its $35 million investment across the street from North Star BlueScope Steel’s flat-rolled mill in Delta, Ohio, USA, in the summer of 2018.

The Waterloo, Indiana-based metal recycler has broken ground on the facility, which will create 75 jobs and process up to 500,000 tons per year. An auto shredder will be constructed as part of the investment on the 60-acre site.

“This project is a big undertaking and a sizeable investment. We are confident that this will be a success for us all. We truly appreciate the encouragement of the North Star BlueScope team [and] the special effort made by area officials to work through the process in an expeditious time frame,” MetalX president and chief executive officer Danny Rifkin said.
