New plant to boost Falcon Steel’s capacity

Falcon Steel America has purchased a manufacturing facility in Conroe, Texas, USA, that is expected to more than double its annual production capacity for high-voltage, steel-lattice towers, according to president, chief executive officer and board member Jim Taylor.

Following two years of expansion, Falcon Steel currently produces 24,000 tons of steel-lattice towers per year via its three Texas plants – in Haltom City, Kaufman and Euless –  Taylor told American Metal Market. The new Conroe facility will add another 40,000 tons per year of capacity, bringing the company’s total capacity to 64,000 tons annually, he said.

Falcon Steel plans to invest another $3.5 million in the 226,000 square foot plant to set it up as it was originally designed, as well as hire 150 workers, according to Taylor.
