Acerinox investing $6m in South African stainless mill


Spanish stainless steelmaker Acerinox will invest €5 million ($6 million) in a new cutting and slitting line at its Columbus stainless steel mill in South Africa.

Columbus mill, which has capacity for 500,000 tonnes per year, to increase exports by 3,000 tonnes per month, Acerinox said.

Acerinox will invest a further €3 million to replace the melting shop refrigerated vault of one of the electric-arc furnaces (EAFs) at its Campo de Gibraltar plant in Andalusia, southern Spain.
