Aleris secures new multi-year contract with Embraer

Aleris, a supplier of aluminium rolled products, which is headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, USA, and has facilities in North America, Europe and Asia, has signed a new multi-year contract with Embraer, a manufacturer of commercial jets with up to 130 seats, to supply aluminium flat-rolled products for use in the production of its aircraft.

The renewed contract agreement includes the supply of technically advanced alloys and extends the portfolio of products for different applications. Aleris notes that the expanded relationship demonstrates its ability to continually meet Embraer’s expectations as its primary supplier of aluminium flat-rolled products.

“Our continued investment in growing our technical capabilities has enabled us to further expand our relationship with Embraer, and we look forward to working with them to achieve their aircraft manufacturing and design goals,” Sean Stack, Aleris chairman and CEO said. “With a world-class aerospace aluminium plate facility in Asia Pacific, we are also uniquely positioned to help them meet aerospace demand in the region which is projected to experience the most significant growth.”

Aleris’ contract with Embraer includes the supply of material from its facilities in Koblenz, Germany and Zhenjiang, China, the latter of which represents a greenfield project for Aleris that opened in 2013.
