Union Partners to build steel processing facility

Union Partners will build a new steel processing facility on the Osceola, Arkansas, campus of Big River Steel. Construction of the new facility, which will be next to Big River’s Flex Mill, will begin in the first quarter of this year and will include both slitting and multi-blanking lines in a built-to-suit facility that is expandable to 258,000 square feet.

The facility will house the “latest innovations in technology and processes” to allow for real-time collaboration with Big River Steel, according to the Chicago-based steel processor.

“This collaboration will allow Union Partners to supply additional steel needs across the country, while maintaining our strong commitment to innovation. Our leading equipment and testing capabilities will only serve to further enhance the timely delivery of quality steel products into the marketplace,” Union Partners’ founders Chris Hutter and Paul Douglass said in a statement.
