Stalatube invests in Finland and Poland

Finnish stainless tube maker Stalatube will invest €20 million ($24.86 million) in expanding its capacity in Finland and opening a new service center in Poland.

“We will install a new tube welding line at our Finnish mill [in Lahti, southern Finland] for special sizes,” chief executive officer Jukki Nummi told Metal Bulletin. “It will have the capacity of a few thousand tpy and we will also update other lines,” Nummi added.

Stalatube’s new service center in Lódz, central Poland, will provide value-added services, such as laser-cutting and bending, as well as shorter delivery times.

The new welding line in Finland and facility in Poland are both expected to start production in the first half of 2019.
