Joe Stratman is Executive Vice President of Raw Materials, Logistics and Business Development for Nucor Corporation.Joe joined Nucor in 1989 as Controller of the Nucor Building Systems division in Waterloo, Indiana. Prior to joining Nucor, he had worked for several years in public accounting in both Boston, Massachusetts, and Fort Wayne, Indiana. In 1991, Joe became Controller of Nucor Yamato Steel Company in Blytheville, Arkansas. He was promoted to General Manager of Nucor Steel Nebraska in 1998 and returned to Nucor Yamato Steel in late 1999 to be Vice President and General Manager. On September 30, 2007, Joe was appointed as Executive Vice President of both the plate and structural steel business units, and in 2010 he also assumed responsibility for business development. In September of 2014, Joe began his current role as Executive Vice President of Raw Materials, Logistics and Business Development. Joe graduated from the University of Notre Dame, with a degree in Business Administration. Nucor and affiliates are manufacturers of steel products, with operating facilities primarily in the U.S. and Canada. Products produced include: carbon and alloy steel -- in bars, beams, sheet and plate; steel piling; steel joists and joist girders; steel deck; fabricated concrete reinforcing steel; cold finished steel; steel fasteners; metal building systems; steel grating and expanded metal; and wire and wire mesh. Nucor, through The David J. Joseph Company, also brokers ferrous and nonferrous metals, pig iron and HBI/DRI; supplies ferro-alloys; and processes ferrous and nonferrous scrap. Nucor is North America's largest recycler.
