Peter Campo


Peter Campo serves as president of Gerdau Long Steel North America. In his position he leads the long steel operations in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Guatemala and the Dominican Republic. In addition to serving as Gerdau’s long steel President, Mr. Campo is also a member of Gerdau’s executive committee. Prior to his appointment as president in April 2014, Mr. Campo served as vice president of supply chain. In this role, he was responsible for procurement and processing of metallics, mill and downstream operations, and sales. His other previous positions with Gerdau include vice president of downstream operations with responsibility for the reinforcing steel and rail and wire product businesses, vice president and general manager of the Northern fabrication group in downstream, and he joined Gerdau in 2008 as the vice president of procurement and sales, planning and operations. He became part of the business division's executive committee in 2009. Prior to Gerdau, he held several positions at General Electric, with growing responsibilities in general management, supply chain, manufacturing and quality in the U.S. and China. Mr. Campo holds a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the California Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science from Rice University.
