Customer woes spur Shiloh to shut plant permanently

Steel stamper and toll processor Shiloh Industries Inc. will permanently close its Liverpool Drive manufacturing plant in Valley City, Ohio, sometime during the two weeks beginning July 3, with 111 layoffs set to begin June 22, according to a Workers Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act letter to the state.

"The sudden unforeseeable and unannounced suspension of manufacturing operations by two of our major customers is resulting in the accelerated closure of Liverpool," said the letter signed by human resources manager Merry Harland. The two customers weren't identified.....
