Chinese finished steel exports jump 19% in September to 2009 high

China's finished steel exports in September increased to their highest level so far this year, and Chinese traders are predicting further increases in October.
Steel exports of 2.47 million tonnes in September were up 19 percent from August, according to preliminary figures from China's Customs Bureau, marking the second month this year exports have topped 2 million tonnes. Despite the increase, exports still trailed the year-ago level by 63 percent.
Imports of finished steel products rose 20 percent month on month and 50 percent year on year to 1.91 million tonnes, making China a net exporter of 560,000 tonnes, up from 490,000 tonnes in August and its largest surplus this year.....
