Assmang shuts ferrochrome furnace for rebuild

Assmang Ltd. has closed one of the four ferrochrome furnaces at its Machadodorp smelter in South Africa for rebuilding, a company source said.
"The chrome furnace has been taken off not because of low demand but because it is in desperate need of rebuilding," he said.....
