First Quantum gives ‘go’ to Finnish site

First Quantum Minerals Ltd. said its board of directors has approved the development of the $400-million Kevitsa nickel-copper-platinum group element project in northern Finland.

The Vancouver, British Columbia-based company hopes to process 5 million tonnes of ore per year, with production due to start in 2012.
