Tianjin Magnesium appeals ‘punitive’ anti-dumping ruling

Tianjin Magnesium International Co. Ltd. (TMI) will appeal an anti-dumping duty on the grounds that the U.S. Commerce Department improperly applied a punitive rate, according to lawyers for the company.
Earlier this month, Commerce set the highest possible anti-dumping duty of 111.73 percent on magnesium from the Chinese exporter, claiming that one of TMI's suppliers failed to adequately cooperate with governmental verification efforts and even took steps to purposely mislead investigators (AMM, Dec. 14). ....
