Gerdau Ameristeel hiking merchant product prices

Gerdau Ameristeel Corp. will raise prices on most of its merchant bar products and concrete reinforcing steel by $3.25 per hundredweight ($65 per ton) effective Jan. 11.
The increase is consistent with the $65-per-ton raw material surcharge increase announced by Nucor Corp., Charlotte, N.C., earlier this month, which takes effect Jan. 1 (AMM, Dec. 14).....
