GE lowers outlook but industrials strong

General Electric Co. (GE) revised its third-quarter earnings guidance Thursday to a range of 43 to 48 cents per share from 50 to 54 cents previously, reflecting "unprecedented weakness and volatility in the financial services markets."
Although its financial services businesses are impacted by current market conditions, Fairfield, Conn.-based GE expects its third-quarter industrial earnings will continue to be strong. ....
