MMX halts iron ore, pig iron output at Corumbá Mine

MMX Mineração e Metálicos will halt iron ore and pig iron production by the end of this month at its Corumbá Mine in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul "in light of the current global economic slowdown."
The Rio de Janeiro-based miner also has postponed planned investments of approximately $200 million to build a billet plant at Corumbá, but it will not cut production at its Sudeste Mine in the state of Minas Gerais.....
