Industry makes call for fair trade as ITC pipe vote due

With the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) due to issue a countervailing duty decision on steel pipe from China on Monday, industry leaders are stressing the need for fair trade rules to be enforced.

"We cannot allow other countries to violate trade laws through illegal subsidies and dumping," Rep. Peter Visclosky (D., Ind.), House Steel Caucus chairman, said in a statement.

Visclosky presented testimony at an ITC hearing late last month to determine if injury was caused to domestic producers of certain circular welded carbon quality steel pipe shipped from China by Huludao Steel Pipe Industrial Co. Ltd. and Shanghai Metals & Minerals Import Export Corp.....
