Ford’s sale of Jaguar, Land Rover seen driving supply changes

India's Tata Motors Ltd. has emerged as the apparent frontrunner in bidding for Ford Motor Co.'s Jaguar and Land Rover brands. A new owner could bring changes to the supply chain for the companies, several analysts said, although not in the near term.

Most potential new owners would continue to use Ford suppliers because they don't have the necessary parts in their existing portfolios, said David Cole, chairman of the Center for Automotive Research in Ann Arbor, Mich. That's especially true for expensive parts such as powertrains and transmissions.....
