Indalex planning to close plant in early 2008

Indalex Inc. is planning to close its aluminum extrusion facility in Girard, Ohio, during the first quarter as a result of weak market conditions.

The company, part of Indalex Holding Finance Co., Lincolnshire, Ill., will meet with representatives of United Steelworkers union Local 4564 in early January in an effort to keep the plant operating, a spokesman said. However, if the meeting fails to change the company's view the facility will close in March, he said. The plant employs approximately 150 people.....
