Arkansas scrap smelter shut by blast; two dead

Secondary smelter Arkansas Aluminum Alloys Inc. has shut its three furnaces as federal investigators look into the cause of an explosion that killed two employees Tuesday.
"We're not shipping anything from here at the present time," Richard Wolf, president of the Hot Springs, Ark.,-based company, said, and he couldn't estimate when operations might restart. "We're taking it one step at a time." He added "We have a lot of support from the other secondaries" in arranging for customers....
