Alcoa aerospace services unit sold to ThyssenKrupp

ThyssenKrupp Services AG, Düsseldorf, Germany, has purchased Alcoa Inc.'s aerospace services business, which provides value-added materials processing services for aircraft manufacturers.

The acquisition price wasn't disclosed, but its sales total about $96 million annually.

The purchase followed an international bidding invitation and Pittsburgh-based Alcoa's decision to focus on its core aerospace business, which realized 2005 revenue of more than $2.7 billion, ThyssenKrupp and Alcoa spokesmen said.....
