Zinc stays tight, lead sees some relief ILZSG

Tightness in the zinc market continues, with demand outstripping supply in the first 10 months of this year, although the lead market saw some slight relief, according to the latest statistics from the International Lead and Zinc Study Group (ILZSG).

Zinc supply continued to lag demand by about 320,000 tonnes through the end of October, up slightly from last year's deficit of 314,000 tonnes. Global refined zinc production in the 10-month period increased by 319,000 tonnes to 8.8 million tonnes, while consumption increased to 9.1 million tonnes from about 8.8 million tonnes a year earlier. ....
