Dana wins patent for microwave plasma-assisted joining of parts

Automotive parts supplier Dana Corp., Toledo, Ohio, has been awarded the first patent for its AtmoPlas microwave atmospheric plasma-heating technology for plasma-assisted joining of metal components.
Chuck Heine, president of technology development at Dana, said the patent award marked "the first step in bringing the AtmoPlas technology and its multitude of uses to the heat-treating industry." Executives said that 20 patent applications for the technology....
