Aluminum scrap export run-up ends at five

The steep upswing in U.S. aluminum scrap exports has finally ceased, with June's decline ending five successive monthly gains that averaged 9.6 percent.

As usual, China (including Hong Kong) dominated the picture, accounting for a nearly 53-percent share in both May and June, although the dollar value of China's share slipped to 51 percent from 52 percent. China's imports of aluminum scrap fell 6.1 percent in June from the previous month, but its year-to-date....
