US lead premiums stabilize in tight market

U.S. lead premiums were fairly stable this week as prices on the London Metal Exchange bumped along near record highs.

Upward pressure by the drawdown of lead stocks at LME warehouses in Baltimore is being balanced by the ramp-up of production at Teck Cominco Ltd.'s metallurgical complex in Trail, British Columbia, following the end of an 11-week strike.....
