HudBay Minerals working to bring Balmat zinc mine back online in '06

HudBay Minerals Inc., through its St. Lawrence Zinc Co. LLC subsidiary, plans to reopen the Balmat No. 4 zinc mine in the Balmat zinc mining district of New York state.
Work to prepare the mine for its reopening will begin shortly, according to Peter R. Jones, president and chief executive officer of HudBay.
The mine is expected to produce approximately 60,000 short tons of zinc metal in concentrate to be processed at Falconbridge Ltd.'s Canadian Electrolytic Zinc Ltd. (CEZinc) facility in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Quebec, with an option for up to 40 percent of the concentrate to be treated at HudBay's zinc plant in Flin Flon, Manitoba.....
