Timken cites costs for aero alloy price hikes

Timken Latrobe Steel, a unit of Timken Co., Canton, Ohio, plans to increase prices on all remelted aerospace alloys between 3 and 8 percent, effective with all new orders received beginning Dec. 1.

The price increase will enable the Latrobe, Pa.,-based company to recover rising operational costs experienced throughout its entire manufacturing process, Hans J. Sack, Timken Latrobe Steel's president, said. Raw materials surcharges remain in effect.....
