Gerdau Ameristeel beefs up melt shop staffing

Citing an increase in steel demand, Gerdau Ameristeel Corp., Tampa, Fla., said it is in the process of hiring an additional 15 to 20 workers at its melt shop operations in Jackson, Tenn.
"Demand is very strong and people have been working very long shifts," Stephanie Shelton, Gerdau's communications manager, said. "We just need the extra personnel.
