USS to 'scope out' plan for Minnesota lake

U.S. Steel Corp. has been asked by the St. Louis County Planning Commission in Minnesota to prepare two studies on a proposal to sell 137 lots within a 1,400-acre parcel of land it owns at Lake Vermilion, Minn.
After hours of discussion and debate from supporters and critics during a public hearing at the Biwabik (Minn.) City Hall late last week, the seven-member commission did not take action on a St. Louis County Planning Department recommendation to move the project ahead under an Alternative Urban Area Review.....
