Feds hit McWane with $4M fine, company officials get prison, probation

Cast iron pipe maker McWane Inc. has beenslapped with a $4 million criminal fine after pleading guilty in federal court in Birmingham, Ala., for alleged environmental crimes.

McWane admitted guilt to nine felony counts of knowingly violating the Clean Water Act at its Birmingham facility, according to the U.S. Dept. of Justice.....
