St. Louis distributor plans to double processing capacity

U.S. Metals & Supply Inc. will soon install a multimillion-dollar stretcher-leveler and slitting line at its St. Louis operation that will double its steel coil processing capacity, parent company New Star Metals Inc. said.
New Star, Lombard, Ill., was formed in May when Dearborn, Mich.-based Northern Steel Group Inc., a unit of Severstal North America, sold off about half of its service center assets to Aurora Resurgence Management Partners LLC.
