USW takes on Severstal NA over removal of W.Va. plant equipment

The United Steelworkers union is prepared to take Severstal North America to court to prevent the removal of equipment from a union operation in Beech Bottom, W.Va., to a non-union shop in Emporia, Va.
USW Local 1238, which represents workers at Wheeling Corrugating Co.—an operation owned by Dearborn, Mich.-based Severstal NA—is seeking a court injunction against the company to prevent the removal of roll-forming equipment from the plant to the Emporia shop. The union hoped to receive the injunction Monday night.....
