PHILADELPHIA — Randy Ehret, Timken Co.’s general manager of strategic sourcing for steel, is leaving the Canton, Ohio-based steelmaker to take a top post at PSC Metals Inc., the Mayfield Heights, Ohio-based scrap processor and broker.

Ehret, one of the most prominent and closely watched steel scrap buyers in the domestic steel industry, will become president of PSC Metals’ northern operations, which includes an array of scrapyards in Ohio and Pennsylvania.

He developed a reputation as a pricing pacesetter for much of the Midwest by often being the first mill buyer out of the gate each month and helping to set the tone of scrap pricing regardless of whether it was up or down.....
