Platte River buys aerospace titanium supplier

LOS ANGELES Platte River Ventures LLC has added privately owned titanium converter Sierra Alloys Co. to its stable, a buy that represents "a new platform" for the company in titanium and specialty alloys, managing director Greg Sissel said.
The Denver venture capital firm bought all of the outstanding stock of Sierra Alloys, a forged and rolled titanium and specialty steel products supplier to the aerospace and defense sectors.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Sierra Alloys had put itself up for sale at midyear, industry sources said.....
