PITTSBURGH An Indiana auto shredder that already faces being placed in receivership for allegedly walking on $4.9 million in loans suffered a fire Saturday that required firefighters from four towns to put out the blaze.
The city of Gary has asked a court to permanently shut Summit Inc. after the fire engulfed a pile of shredder fluff Saturday morning, according to Gary Fire Prevention Bureau chief inspector John A. Leslie. Personnel from Indianas East Chicago, Gary, Lake Ridge and New Chicago municipalities responded to the scene.....
