LOS ANGELES West Coast flat-rolled steel producers are said to be seeking a second round of price hikes even as some importers continue to maintain competitive pressure.
USS-Posco Industries (UPI), Pittsburg, Calif., has told customers it will raise cold-rolled sheet prices for February by $40 per ton and galvanized sheet by $50 per ton, according market sources. Meanwhile, California Steel Industries Inc. (CSI), Fontana, Calif., has begun taking orders for February after informing customers that it is raising hot-rolled prices by a minimum of $30 per ton, cold-rolled product by at least $40 per ton and....
