Russia set to join WTO; steel impact unclear

WASHINGTON — After 18 years of negotiations, Russia is expected to join the World Trade Organization (WTO) on Friday.

Russia’s accession meeting is scheduled for Friday afternoon during the WTO’s ministerial gathering in Geneva. If successful, Russia will become an official member in mid-January, according to a WTO spokeswoman, putting an end to the 1995 European Union-Russia steel-quota....
