Evraz to boost N. America rail output

CHICAGO — Evraz Group SA plans to upgrade its Pueblo, Colo., rail production facility and increase output, the Russian steelmaker said Wednesday.

"As North American rail companies continually expand their networks, our customers are looking for world-class head-hardened rail to enable more tonnage to travel over their lines at a lower total cost," Pavel Tatyanin, senior vice president and head of Evraz’s international business, said in a statement.

The announcement comes just after Colorado state environmental authorities granted an air quality permit that allows subsidiary Evraz Inc. North America to increase capacity at the Pueblo site (AMM, Dec. 20).....
