NEW YORK — Brazilian miner Vale SA is planning to start exploration for nickel on the Melville Peninsula in Canada’s Nunavut region later this year.
The company, through subsidiary Vale Exploration Canada Inc., plans to start prospecting, geophysics and drilling once necessary licenses and permits are in place, according to an application with the Nunavut Impact Review Board, the licenser of mineral projects in the area. ....
