Investments in copper ETPs post record first-quarter rise

NEW YORK Copper exchange-traded products (ETPs) logged their largest-ever rise in investments during the first quarter, Nicholas Brooks, head of research and investment strategy at ETF Securities Ltd., told AMM.
Copper ETPs added $248 million during the period, according to a quarterly report by ETF Securities, and the metal is "likely to continue to see strong inflows this year," Brooks said.
This comes as the outlook for copper demand is generally bullish, driven by robust growth estimates for the U.S. market and a general sense that Chinas demand will continue to grow.....
