Chinese start-up drives down Aleris' 1st-qtr. profits

NEW YORK Aleris International Inc.s net income fell in the first quarter, which the company attributed partially to start-up costs at its aerospace plate mill in Zhenjiang, China.
The Cleveland-based aluminum producer posted net income of $47.6 million for the three months ended March 31, down 16.9 percent from the same period last year, on revenue that slipped 4.3 percent to $1.14 billion.....
